ABOUT THE YEAR OF THE DEAD
A 12 month zombie-themed calendar featuring the hottest girls to ever crawl from the grave; The Year of the Dead™ brings new meaning to the term "dead sexy". Founded in 2011 by a team of terribly twisted minds from Connecticut; Rocky Calsetta, Shane Rausch, Josh Esan, and Nichelle Hosey created a zombie pinup calendar that Fangoria magazine says is "certainly not your average poolside cheesecake photo production." Using traditional special effects techniques, each month features the most gorgeously grotesque girls you could shake a brain stem at. The 2012 Swimsuit Edition created quite a stir, making international news in Bizarre, Fangoria, and Fox News and the 2013 Lingerie Edition debuts this fall with twice the bloody beauties and will feature 2011 B-Movie Celebration Fangoria Scream Queen of the Year, Melanie Contreras as the calendar cover girl. The Year of the Dead™ publishes a calendar that breaks the stereotype that dead things can't be sexy and will give your boss second thoughts about coming into your cubicle.

PRIVATE DONNAS SHOWCASE - NYC
To celebrate The Donnas new album, Gold Medal, I coordinated a special show and after- party at the LES venue, Rothko. The Donnas performed live, and later that night the after-party was held in the downstairs lounge. Only industry VIPs were invited, so the event had to be a memorable and impressive one.

A small budget proved not to be a challenge in finding creative resources. The Gold Medal album on vinyl came with a limited edition blacklight poster inside and the cover artwork was reminiscent of the '70s. This brought on the idea of a retro-hippie theme for the special occasion. The artist, Not Keren (Blood is the New Black clothing), created blacklight sensitive paintings, neon glow bracelets were given to each entrant (instead of colored wristbands), and a large image of The Donnas poster was used. The live show was great, and everyone enjoyed the party downstairs where blacklights illuminated the artwork on the wall. The neon glow bracelets were a fun way to intertwine The Donnas new album and also a great conversation starter.

Sailor Jerry Rum and Red Stripe beer sponsored the all night open bar and free Sailor Jerry tank tops were given away. Popular DJs Tommy Sunshine, Junior Sanchez, and Justine D spun at the after-party. Big and small celebrities came to enjoy the festivities including members of The Darkness, Wolf Mother, and Josh Madden (Made Clothing).

Months after this event people still remembered the show, especially all of the small details involved from the blacklight paintings, to the fun glowing bracelets.
